In case of any movement, such sensors connected to the alarm system intimate of any intrusion to the police or owner of the home, depending upon the system installed.
2. Ceiling-mounted motion sensor: Similar to an indoor infrared motion sensor, such sensors are ceiling-mounted in order to help them take 360 degree coverage. Such sensors are especially suited for places where their view is blocked by shelves or storage devices. Their mechanism is the same where the alert is activated through the IR channel in case of any movement or changes in the heat levels.
3. Pet immune motion sensor: Such type of a sensor is especially suited for households owning pets as the pet’s presence triggers a false alarm. The IR channel in such a motion sensor do not get activated with the presence of small pets and small changes in temperature do not register in the same heat levels as designed for humans.
4. Outdoor motion sensor: Such type of a sensor triggers light to be switched on when the IR channel present in the sensor sense a movement within a specified range of the system (usually 40-50 feet). If attached to an alarm, they also alert the home owner or the police by triggering the alarm. Not only do such sensors prevent any intrusion or burglary, they are also help the home owners feel safe while walking back home in the dark and illuminate the way for increased safety.
